Piki Dada

Terms of use

Last updated 1 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Pikidada Services Ltd (Kampala, Uganda) for using the Piki Dada app and website. By creating an account you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

What Piki Dada is

Piki Dada is a platform that connects people who need a ride or a delivery with independent boda and car riders. Riders are not our employees: they choose when to work and which requests to accept, and they provide the ride or delivery themselves.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and give your real name and a phone number you can be reached on.
  • One account per person. Keep your password private; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time (see the privacy policy).

Booking and paying

  • The fare shown before you book is an estimate for the route chosen. The final fare can include waiting time at stops beyond the free minutes shown when you booked, and is lower if stops are skipped where our pricing allows it.
  • Pay the way you chose when booking. For cash, pay the rider the fare shown in the app and confirm it in the app.
  • Coupons are for genuine trips only, one use per account unless the coupon says otherwise. They have no cash value. We can cancel coupon credit used on a fake or arranged trip. Referral rewards are for real new customers' real first rides, and can be refused if a ride looks arranged.
  • You can cancel before your trip starts. Repeated cancellations may limit your use of the service.

Deliveries

  • Describe the item honestly and pack it properly. Mark items that are fragile or liquid.
  • Don't send anything illegal, dangerous, or that a boda can't safely carry: weapons, drugs, explosives or flammable items, live animals, cash or valuables you can't afford to lose.
  • Make sure someone is at the drop-off to receive the item.
  • If a drop-off can't be delivered (nobody there to receive it), the rider brings the item back to the pickup and you pay a return fare: a rate per kilometre from that drop-off back to the pickup, in cash to the rider. With several such drop-offs on one delivery, you pay one return fare, from the farthest. The fare for a drop-off that couldn't be delivered is not refunded.

Riders

  • Keep a valid driving permit, vehicle registration and insurance, and a roadworthy vehicle, as Ugandan law requires. Carry a helmet for each boda passenger.
  • Only use your own approved account, with your own photo and vehicle. Never let anyone else ride on it.
  • Use the app honestly: tap "arrived", "start" and "complete" when they really happen, keep your location on while online, and never fake your location.
  • Piki Dada keeps a commission on each fare, at the rate shown in the app. On cash trips you owe that commission to Piki Dada.

Behaviour

Treat each other with respect. No violence, threats, harassment, discrimination, or riding under the influence. Report anything unsafe to us straight away at [email protected], and in an emergency call the police on 999.

Suspension

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts anyone at risk, or is used for fraud. Where it is safe to, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Liability

We work to keep Piki Dada running and safe, but we can't promise a rider will always be available or that the app will never be interrupted. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for what riders, passengers or senders do. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Ugandan consumer law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
